So let’s say you’re one of the 80 odd thousand people converging on Denver for Sen. Barack Obama’s coronation official nomination as Democratic Presidential candidate. Tips to find hotels in Denver are beyond use at this juncture, with the DNC Convention set to kick-off on Monday. If you already don’t have a place to stay, then best you watch in on television.

But we can ruminate on the best eats and convinient diners if you’re going to be in Denver, especially in the vicinity of the Pepsi Center. It seems CNN has taken over Brooklyn’s, an eatery across from the Pepsi Center, for some tradition they have called the ‘CNN Grill’. I dunno if you’ll be allowed in, but if you are, then its a fantastic spot to watch the televised goings-on inside the Pepsi Center.

Its a perfect sports bar with 10 HD plasma TVs, great sandwiches, and over 15 beers both on tap and bottle. So let’s say you land up at the Pepsi Center, but are unable to watch the Convention proceedings live, the next best thing you could do would be to watch it from Brooklyn’s (901 Auraria Pkway Denver CO 80204, Tel:- 303-607-0002).

If, that is, those snobby CNN media types will allow it. Darn, if it was up to me, I’d take every MSM journalist I could find and throw all of them into the ocean as shark-food. They’d probably start interviewing the sharks, but… Anyway, let’s move on to some other nice restaurants in the area.

There’s also Braun’s Bar & Grill (1055 Auraria Parkway  Denver, CO 80204, Tel:- 720-932-0707), another sports bar on Auraria Parkway which is almost always jam-packed before, during and after games at the Pepsi Center. Considering the DNC Convention is gonna be one of the biggest games ever, it’s safe to say that if you want to sit at Braun’s Bar and/or their Penalty Box, which usually hosts private parties, you’ll have to get there at the latest by Sunday night.

If you’re fond of BigMac’s and greasy fast food, there’s a McDonalds At the Tivoli (900 Auraria Pkwy Denver, CO, 80204, Tel:- 303-595-8434) that serves a smashing triple cheeseburger, and there’s a nearby Taco Bell (900 Auraria Parkway Denver, CO, 80204, Tel:- 303-607-9387).
