The Costliest Hotel Suites in New York City
There’s one thing you have to admire about New York City, and that is the absolute disregard for moderation. Most things are done in extremes in the Big Apple, and New York hotels are at the forefront of this game. Here’s some unique hotel suites in NYC which are, well.. sky high in more ways than one.
Sky Suites at the London NYC Hotel - Stretching across the 53rd and 54th floors of the London NYC hotel, the sky suites offer stunning views of the City. The 2500 sq ft penthouse suite is the highest hotel room in NYC at 540 feet and costs an astounding $15,000 per night. Info: 151 W 54th St New York NY 10019; (866) 690-2029; www.thelondonnyc.com/
Elite Traveler, a magazine which cataloges the traveling preferences of the rich and the powerful, has come out with its list of ‘101 Top Hotel/Resort Suites of the Year’ in its July/August 2008 issue, and two out of the top four costliest hotel suites in the United States are in New York.
In the United States, the most expensive suite is the Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons Hotel New York at $30,000/night, also notable as the most expensive suite ever built in the United States. The Chairman Suite at the Palazzo Resort in Las Vegas comes in next at $20,000/night, followed by two suites at $15,000/night — the Empire Suite at the Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, New York, and the Grand Suite at Hawaii’s Grand Wailea Resort and Spa. - Elite recommends - Top 101 Hotel Suites of the Year, Elite Traveler
That’s a downloadable pdf file, and if you go through it, you’ll find the NYC Mandarain Oriental’s Presidential Suite clocks in fifth at $14,000. So that’s 3 out of the top 10 costliest hotel suites. And if you add in the London NYC hotel’s $15,000 penthouse suite (which isn’t in the list this year, but likely will be next year), NYC gets 4 spots in the top 10. Well, nobody ever said New York vacations come cheap …
