Bipartisan Tuesdays at 1331 Lounge JW Marriott DC

1331 Bar & Lounge at JW Marriott DCIn Washington DC, there’s a difference between the bipartisan spirit and bipartisan spirits. The former is something which allows a bunch of politicians to agree to join hands in an effort to flush the country down the loo.

The latter can be found at swanky restaurants  tucked discreetly inside posh hotels, where lobbyists entertain politicans from both sides of the aisle. Case in point is the 1331 Bar & Lounge at the JW Marriott Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel. Photo copyrights - Marriott International, Inc.

Continuing Tuesday, August 26 through November 4, every Tuesday and the presidential and veep debate nights, 1331 Lounge is the spot to view all of the political debate coverage. While watching things heat up between McCain and Obama, guests can enjoy happy hour specials including the red, Grand Old Potable (GOP), the white, On the Fence and the blue, Left of the Isle. The lounge will eventually tally the sales of the GOP and Left of the Isle and post the poll on Tuesdays.

Also, debate watchers can nosh on bi-partisan bites such as Left Wings with spicy Asian dipping sauce, Right Wings with Texas honey barbeque, and Undecide’r Sliders like the “Bay of Pigs” mini Cuban pulled pork sandwich with jicama slaw and chipotle mayo; “FDR’s Chicken in the Pot” mini chicken sandwiches with spicy chow chow relish; “Cows and Politics” mini Angus beef burger with cheese and sauce; and the “Swimming up Stream” mini salmon burger with melted dilled Harvarti cheese.

Adding to the fun, 1331’s Filibuster Fun Facts and Trivia cards are available throughout the lounge, so patrons can test their political know-how and presidential history.  More details, pricing, dates and happy hour timings can be found on the press release here.
