You don’t necessarily have to be a camping fan to attend, and neither do you have to be a Sierra Club member. You can either stay in the pre-assembled platform tents with or share cabins with friends, and you’ll have access to hot showers, comfortable beds, warm meals and the other sissy stuff you’re used to, so no worries that its going to be hard on your civilized urban butt.

Evening starts with happy hour followed by dinner and after that, the dining area gets converted into a dance floor with live music from a DJ. If you’re a terrible dancer, just hang around the campfire and make friends and mingle with the other no-so-good dancers.

Try out your hand (and legs) at relay contest, kayak races and limbo contests. And the camp is big enough that you can get some privacy and alone time any time you feel like it.

Costs $225 for Sierra Club members and $250 for non-members. Fee includes round trip Catalina boat transportation, camp & landing fees for two nights, platform tent w/bed and mattress or wood cabins w/electric lights/outlets, hot showers, flush toilets, campfires, kayaks, dancing, dance lessons, many leader led hikes/activities, optional competitive events, and catered meals from Friday afternoon to Sunday lunch.
