Greyhound Travel Stimulus Package
Here we go again. Its raining stimulus packages. Only, this time, private industry is stepping up to the plate, without waiting for a federal stimulus package from Congress. For starters, Greyhound has launched a ‘travel stimulus package’ with discounted fares and promotions to keep America moving for the holidays.
In a press statement, Dave Leach, president and CEO, Greyhound Lines, Inc., said that “There’s a lot of talk these days about how we can get America moving again and Greyhound is committed to supporting this effort when it comes to travel. Our new ‘Stimulus Package’ helps make it possible for families to take their vacations, reunite with loved ones and continue their holiday traditions.”
Here’s what’s on offer:
- Friends and Family Companion Fare: Up to three companions can travel at 50 percent off with the purchase of one adult standard walk-up fare. A three-day advance purchase is required.
- 10-Day Advance Purchase Fare: 10-day advance purchase fares are 75 percent off adult standard walk-up fare. Every day, 250 tickets will be available for purchase until they are sold out.
- Expanded On-Line Discounts: Fares are priced at a 20-percent discount off the adult standard walk-up fare.
- Holiday Bounce-Back Coupon: For all tickets sold in terminals during the holiday period (Dec. 15 – Jan. 5), customers will receive a coupon for 20 percent off their next trip during the redemption period (Jan. 6 – March 31). Some restrictions may apply.
For more information visit www.greyhound.com. Oh, and Peter Pan Bus Lines also will be offering these discounts on routes which they serve in the Northeast. There’s also other BUs services, like BoltBus, which offer dirt cheap fares to and from the Big Apple. Basically, you can pay for a trip from Boston or DC to New York with the change in your pocket. That’s how NYC cheap bus trips are.
Now all we need is for the pricey New York hotels and restaurants to realize that customers need a stimulus, and shave 75% off of the nightly room rate and entrees. I mean, what’s the point of saving 10 bucks on a bus and then blowing $600 a day on food and lodging?
FYI, there’s also a Carribean vacation stimulus package from Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Plan your visit to The Bahamas at the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino for great savings! Pay for two consecutive nights and receive the following two nights free, plus enjoy a $100.00 (USD) food and beverage credit for use at the resort during your stay.
