Just read this article in People which says that J-Lo and Marc Anthony are on a ‘romantic getaway’ in Puerto Rico. The couple, who left for their romantic jaunt on Dec. 26, rang in 2009 poolside at La Concha Hotel, reports the Puerto Rico newspaper El Voce.  Thought I’d look into it a little bit more, and see if we can come up with a list of romantic getaways where you can rub elbows with the stars.

Didn’t have to look too far. MSNBC has already done all the spade work, and they have it all listed neatly - 10 A-list celebrity escapes. The list includes - Tom Cruise at Fiji’s Wakaya Club with his then girlfriend Penelope Cruz, and then with now wife Katie Holmes at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Also friends star Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami; Justin Timberlake with gal pal Jessica Biel on the slopes of Park City, and of course Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Namibia, Germany, New York, Mammoth Mountain and who knows where else.

Forbes Traveler has a list of resorts in Mexico favored by celebrities. Another one, also from Forbes Traveler, lists the getaways of Forbes’ top 100 celebrity index. Yet another article from Star Pulse lists poopular clebrity getaways. Includes Miami, Aspen Colorado, Jackson Hole Wyoming, the Hawaiian Islands and the Hamptons on Long Island, New York, among other locations worldwide.

The Star Pulse article also adds that one of the hottest places where you can rub elbows with A-list stars is Necker Island, in the The British Virgin Islands - a 74 acre private island owned by Richard Branson, that costs $47,000 a night. For that pretty penny, you can stay and enjoy the private island with your closest friends without being hounded by the shutterbugs. Celebrities who have visited Necker, include Janet Jackson, Eddie Murphy, Oprah Winfrey and Mariah Carey.
