Apparently some of the attendees at the shindig organized by Rev. Al’s non-profit - National Action Network - made some ‘unauthorized expenses.’

The convention in question, held in April 2008, was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination, and was very attended. NAN says it hopes to resolve the matter peacefully. The 2009 NAN convention was held at Rev. Al’s home-base in NYC, at the at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers.

The Peabody is one of the most famed hotels in Memphis. That’s partly because, in addition to it’s long history and all the facilities and the convinient downtown location, the hotel also doubles as one of the star Memphis attractions - The Peabody Ducks march to and from the Grand Lobby daily at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in a time-honored tradition dating back to 1933.
